Top 10 films of 2009.

In this post I am going to include my ten most favorite films of 2009 that make me smile.

1. The Time Traveler's Wife - This film is one of my favorites. It tells a love story between a woman and a man who travel around time.

2. Avatar - This film has many effects that are done so well that you could believe that everything is happening in real.

3. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - I am sure that you have heard of Harry Potter. He is a magician who has to "fight" against the Dark Lord Voldermort. This is the six film of the saga and only one is left (there are seven books on which the films are based on).

4. Angels and Demons - This film tells an amazing story about a iluminator who kills only priests. It is based on the book Angels and Demons written by Dan Brown.

5. The Hangover - This film is a very funny comedy. It tells a story of four man who celebrate a hangover before the wedding in Las Vegas. The broom is lost after a crazy night in that sin city and the three other man start searching for him. Their actions and the bride's phone calls for the broom are very funny and I recommend you to watch that film.

6. Coco Before Chanel - This film is a documentary of the life of Coco Chanel. In the film, she goes through a lot of difficulties to earn her place in life.

7. The Pink Panther 2 - This filml is a veery funny one. It tells a story of our favorite detective searching for the robber of national treasures.

8. Year One - Another comedy! The film tells a story of two caveman who decide to go out of the cave and to explore the world. The film is full of jokes and is a funny one.

9. X-men Origins: Wolverine - The film is something like a "background information" how the wolverine became the wolverine. There are three other films about X-men just like "X-men," and others.

10. The Princess and The Frog - This is the new Walt Disney's story! It is an animation but a very interesting one. The film is about a girl who kisses a frog but the unexpected happens and she turns into a frog and together with the enchanted prince they need to find the magician who can break that curse.

I recommend to you these films because they are very interesting to watch and you will see that you will enjoy even the ones that you thought were not for you. (:

Happy New Year!!!

3...2....1.... Happy New Year!

Well I am sure that you remember the counting of the coming new year. I was sitting on the chair and was eating my slice of bread and then I saw on the TV the president's message. He was talking about seven minutes and after that a clock appeared on the screen which showed the arrow of the seconds moving towards the twelve. And there was it 3,2,1 and the screaming of my parents "Happy New Year!' and I heard me screaming too and then the screaming of the people on the screen. Oh.. what a night. After that there was the banitsa (it is a meal made of cheese and a lot of other things that I cannot explain) with the wishes on toothstick. This is a tradition in my country in which everybody chooses a slice of the banitsa and there is a wish on a stick which tells you different things like "The new year will bring you a lot of cheer" and that wish is said to be true for the new year.

A lot of people on this day have spent with their family or with their frends. Many people have counted till 12 for the coming new year. They have expected it with pleasure and here it came. Usually, the new year is a new beginning, a new start . Many people make wishes for themselves that they are going to do something, the promise they will do it. Such as "For the next year I promise that will stop smoking" but this does not happen only if you wish or promise it but you have to try what you have said, you should try to achieve it.

I wish Happy New Year to all!!!

H O L I D A Y S!!

Oh, I love the holidays and Christmas is getting near every minute. There are about 7 days, 10 hours, 6 minutes and 32 seconds till Christmas comes. Now, do you think about different kinds of decorations, meals and presents? Are you excited and stressed about the coming holidays? Don't worry about them because now is the time to have fun, now is the time to celebrate.

I love the Christmas spirit. All the songs, they bring such spirit in people for the holidays. In my school, yesterday and today, the teachers stood in the foyer of one of the buildings and started singing Christmas Carols. We, the students, joined the teachers in some of them (the ones we knew the lyrics). Another part of the Christmas spirit is the Christmas Tree. Have you and your family bought one? My family always buys it in the last moment but I am really excited when that happens. We take out all our decorations and "dress" the tree in beautiful toys. When we put the lamps on it, it is as if the whole tree is shining.

I expect with pleasure Christmas Eve. I want to try all these lovely meals of that night (even though they have no meat I really like them). In my country, Bulgaria, there is a tradition to put a coin in the cake and the person who gets the slice with that coin, he/she will be lucky the next year. (I have got the coin only twice and I hope that I will get another one this year) Another tradition is to go with a candle in all the rooms in the house in order to "lighten" the rooms for the next year.

Now, there are the presents. I'm sure that you are wondering about the presents of your relatives and of your friends. You are wondering what should you buy. Now I'm going to write something you might think is stupid... but it does not matter what the presents are, big or small, cheap or expensive because all it matters is that you have bought something from your heart; something that you know the other person would like even though, it is not that big or expensive.

Christmas is a holiday that represents the birth of Jesus Christ. On this day, everybody should be with their family, everybody should be with the ones they love. It is a holiday of the family. It is the holiday where everybody should be together.

I wish you a Merry Christmas!

This is the text of my most favorite Christmas Carol:

Silent Night

Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ, the Saviour is born
Christ, the Saviour is born

Silent night, holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth"

Books for pleasure

Wordle: Untitled

Sometimes feeling alone and the only thing that can save you are the books? You want to go somewhere else, to a better place where, for example, you want to see a prince saving a princess; love wins and bad is beaten? You think that sometimes books make you happy and with pleasure espect to see what will happen in the next chapter? In this post, I am going to show you some books that have impressed me and have made me feel better and I hope that you will read them.
The first book that I'm going to write, is not a book, but stories written by Hans Christian Andersen. He has written a lot of interesting ones and some of them are "The Steadfast Tin Soldier," "The Snow Queen," "The Little Mermaid," The Little Match Girl, " The Ugly Ducking," etc. The stories that were very interesting for me when I was little, and still are, are the "The Ugly Ducking" and "The Little Matching Girl."

The "Ugly Ducking" is a story about a bird born in a barnyard and is told to be ugly, not like the other birds. But in the end, it matures into a graceful swan which is the prettiest of all.

The story "The Little Match Girl" tells us about a girl who is selling matches in the cold New Year's eve. Nobody buys a match from her and she is freezing. She decides to light one match to cool herself and when she does this, she sees Christams tree and a holiday feast. After that, she sees a falling star which reminds her of her grandmother who has said that such stars meant that someone has died. She lights another match and sees her grandmother. She lights another and another to keep seeing that vision. The child dies of coldness and her grandmother takes her to Heaven and in the morning, in the new year, the people could see the red cheeks and the smile on the face of the dead girl. It is a sad but an interesting story that shows that the girl has seen the only person she wanted on the New Year's eve- her grandmother who has always given her love.

Two or three years ago these books were my favorites. The trilogy "Dark Materials" written by Philip Pulman. The three books are full with extraordinary things beyond our imagination. It is a story about a girl, Lyra, who doesn't know her parents and her only relative is her uncle, Lord Asriel (who, in the end of the first book, turns out to be her father). In the books are told Lyra's adventures till she finally "saves" the world.

Another book that was a very interesting for me was "The Catcher in The Rye" whose writer is J. D. Salinger. It is a story about a life of a "man" who faces a lot of difficulties during his life in a school in Pennsylvania.

I'm sure that everybody knows the books abour Sherlock Holmes written by Arthur Connan Doyle. They tell a story about a detective, Sherlock Holmes, who can undestand a lot about a man just by seeing it, and his helper, Dr. Watson. They take really complicated cases which have an unexpected end. My most favorite book of these series is "The Hound of the Baskervilles."

The last book that I am writing in this post is the "Arch of Triumph" written by Erich Maria Remarque. It is a story about a man whose name is Ravic who lives during the Second World War. He lives in Paris and is a surgeon, even though he doesn't have permission to do that. He meets and actress who changes his life forever... (that's what I remember)

Some people think that reading is just a lost of time but they are wrong. People have spent months and even years writing books that are interesting for people. If you read a book and undesrtand what's in it, it will become enjoyable for you and you will expect with pleasure to see what happens in the end.

Shouldn't we protect our planet?

Have you ever felt that when you are walking down the street you see dozens of garbage on our way. Haven't you thought of the idea of picking them up? Have you thought of the change you are goind to make if you do so? In my country there are almost no people like that. Wherever you look there's rubbish. Almost everybody throws their garbage on the street, in the park, everywhere because the recycle bin is too far from them (10 metres) . Have you felt that sometimes it is not difficult to throw your rubbish but as you have thrown it on the street for the past two years, it has become a routine for you?

"Don't throw your garbage everywhere!!" is what I am going to tell you. Can you think of the pollution you are making. Now, think of the change you are going to make. Can you imagine the clean parks where, for example your child is playing, the clean seas or rivers where you swim, the clean cities and the clean planet where we live? Can you imagine the feeling in you that you have changed something, can you imagine the smile on your face...

I think that everybody should think about this so that he/she can make a difference.
Visit this cite if you want to see another article about polution.

My favorite places...

The place which takes my breath away is that "big water" called a sea. I love watching the sea. It does not matter whether it is summer or winter. It is just the spirit of watching it. When I see it I feel so pleased and can watch it for hours. I can see the waves coming towards me as they want to touch me, to catch me. I want to run in the sand. I can feel the freedom at this moment. When I run on the sand, nothing can stop me and I can do this for hours and won't be bored because for me it had been just one moment. I want to feel the sand in my hands. I could grab a bunch of sand and feel the littlse rocks it is made of. When you are at the sea you can see the sky touching it as they want to mix, they want to be together, they want to make something new. If you go in the morning to watch the sunrise, the sun will slowly appear from the sea. When I am watching this it is as if it is something that happens for the first time.
When I look at the sea, I start thinking about everything, everything that comes to my mind. I don't know is it from the fresh air or because of the feeling but this is the place where I can find most of the answers. They just come to my mind in the second I ask myself a question. Another thing that makes me feel nice when I watch the sea is just the sound of the waves. I close my eyes and just listen. I can hear the waves hitting the cliffs. When I listen to this I can lose several hours withouth realizing that.

Have you ever tried this? To go to your favorite place and feel the feeling of freedom? You will be pleased with the result. You will feel as if you have been born again, as if you start from the beginning, with new future. This is what the sight of sea makes to me. It takes my breath away and it is like just a little moment in front of this "big water", in front of this beauty is my whole life.

Another thing that is not favorite place, but favorite time is when I get up in the morning and look from the window. I can see how the sun is trying to make its way out through the clouds. When it is doing this, I can see the different colors that are made: orange, pink, yellow, and even red. When I see it, I immedeately run around the apartament to look for my camera to take a photo of it because every time that happens it is unique. I want to record this time, so ,for example, when I am sad, I could look at it and feel better. I cannot explain why I feel better when I see it but it is just the beauty that is made. I can just watch it and feel warmness in my body as if this thing had made my day look better. When I look at the sky it is like the beautiful colors are flying all around me as they want to hug me, to calm me down. I want to look at it all day but it disappears after few minutes and I cannot wait for the next day to come to see if there is going to be another colorful view.
